Literacy Pirates
Mural and signage completed for Literacy Pirate’s ‘flagship’ on Kingsland Road, Hackney. Literacy Pirates are a charity that work with children aged 9-12 whose teachers think they would benefit from extra help.
One of the ‘Young Pirates’ came up with the idea for the front of the building having tentacles rising out of the sea, against a sun rise. Together with the LP team, we developed this idea into a workable design. Painting took just under 4 days to complete.

Take it Back! Mural
I was asked by Motel Studios to paint the front of their photography studio in Hoxton, east London. They wanted an artwork that would have a direct conversation with the new-build flats being constructed opposite the arches (which turned out to be a WeWork). Many who once lived in the area have been priced out to favour wealthy new residents, attracted to the cultural and creative area. An area made interesting by its diversity of class, culture and ethnic backgrounds.
Although mainly untouched, I did have to paint over a small area of graffiti in which a street artist had written ‘Take it Back!’. To pay my respects, and because I felt it was relevant to the theme, I incorporated these words into the design.
Thanks to Tat Savage and Will De Villiers for their assistance.

Well Seasoned
I was asked by Well Seasoned, a grassroots live music venue and multi-functional events space, to paint the front of their business. They wanted a vibrant and colourful piece that utilised their brand colours and gave an inviting feel.
Housed on Level 5 of Peckham Levels and brought to you by Well Good Music, the team behind acclaimed venues The Jago and Passing Clouds in Dalston, the space plays host to an impressive lineup of events and performances that champion POC and queer music, with a strong emphasis on artist discovery and diversity.
